Terms of Sale
Last updated: 25 juillet 2026 / July 25, 2026
This document is available in French and English; the French version is authoritative in case of discrepancy.
These Terms of Sale (“Terms”) govern the relationship between the non-profit association Le Chemin Numérique and any person (“User”, “you”) who creates an account or subscribes to a paid Plan on GetQRcard. Creating an account or placing an order implies full acceptance of these Terms.
Article 1 — Who we are
GetQRcard is published by:
- Le Chemin Numérique — non-profit association (ASBL) under Belgian law
- Registered office: Quai du Roi-Albert 114, box 3, 4020 Liège, Belgium
- Company/enterprise number (BCE): 1039.717.066
- Contact: admin@lcn.ac
- Organisation website: lecheminnumerique.be
Article 2 — Purpose and definitions
These Terms set out the conditions under which GetQRcard makes the Service available to Users, free of charge or for payment depending on the Plan chosen.
- “QRcard”: a QR code generated by the Service, tied to a permanent short code and an editable destination.
- “Destination”: the content a QRcard redirects to (a web link, a vCard contact card, or an uploaded document), which the User can change at any time from their account, without reprinting the physical item.
- “Plan”: the service tier subscribed to (Free card or Confirmed card — see Article 4).
- “Lifetime” / “forever”: where the Site or these Terms use this wording — in particular regarding the Free Plan being described as a “lifetime free account”, or a QRcard’s destination staying “editable for life”/“forever” — this refers to the length of time GetQRcard makes the Service available, not to the User’s own lifetime. GetQRcard aims to keep the Service running over the long term but, like any non-profit, cannot guarantee it will operate in perpetuity; what happens if the Service is discontinued is set out in Article 9.
Article 3 — Account creation and access
Beyond simply browsing the Site, using the Service requires creating an account (name, e-mail, password) and verifying the e-mail address. An unverified account cannot create a QRcard.
Users must be at least 16 to create an account; subscribing to a paid Plan requires legal capacity to contract (generally 18) or a legal guardian’s consent.
Users must provide accurate information and keep their credentials confidential; they are responsible for any activity carried out from their account.
Article 4 — Plans and pricing
| Plan | Price | QRcards | Scan history | Bulk generation | Contact card (vCard) | Document (PDF) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 1 | 30 days | No | Yes | No |
| Confirmed card | €15/year | Unlimited | Unlimited | Yes | Yes | Yes |
The “vCard / Document” column previously merged two distinct things and read “No” for the free plan. That was inaccurate: the contact card is the very principle of the Service and is included in both plans. Only PDF document hosting is reserved for the paid plan. The two columns are now separate.
The Confirmed card is an annual subscription, billed in advance and automatically renewed unless cancelled (Article 7). When payment is made, the payment provider authenticates the holder of the payment account and communicates their name to GetQRcard. The User may choose to display that name on their card as “name confirmed by the payment provider on [date]”. This statement attests to a check carried out on a given date; it is neither an identity verification in the legal sense, nor a guarantee as to the person, their activity or their solvency. Payment funds the Service; it does not purchase that statement, which results solely from the check performed by the payment provider.
Prices are in euros. GetQRcard may change its prices for the future; any price change will be announced before it takes effect and will not apply retroactively to an already-paid period.
Article 5 — Ordering and payment
Payment for paid Plans is processed exclusively via PayPal, a third-party payment provider. GetQRcard does not collect or store any card or PayPal account data: this data is handled directly by PayPal under its own privacy policy.
The subscription is confirmed and the Plan activated once PayPal validates the payment. If a payment fails or is cancelled, the User’s current Plan remains unchanged.
Article 6 — Right of withdrawal
Under Belgian law (implementing EU Directive 2011/83/EU), consumers generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason.
However, by subscribing to a paid Plan and expressly requesting immediate access to the Service as soon as payment is confirmed, the User acknowledges that the right of withdrawal ends once performance of the Service has begun, in line with the exception applying to digital content/services performed with the consumer’s prior express agreement. In practice: withdrawing before any use of the paid Plan gives rise to a refund; once the Service has been used during the current period, any refund may be reduced pro rata or declined for the period already used. To exercise this right: admin@lcn.ac.
Article 7 — Term, renewal and cancellation
The Confirmed card subscription runs for one year and renews automatically for successive one-year periods unless cancelled.
Users may cancel at any time from their account (My account > Billing) or by e-mailing admin@lcn.ac. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; no pro-rata refund is given for the current period, subject to Article 6. The account then reverts to the Free plan; QRcards and data beyond that plan’s limits are kept but some features (e.g. bulk generation) may be restricted until a new subscription is taken out.
GetQRcard may suspend or terminate an account in case of serious breach of these Terms (in particular Article 8), with prior notice except in urgent cases.
Article 8 — User content
Users remain solely responsible for the content attached to their QRcards (links, vCard details, uploaded documents) and warrant they hold all necessary rights to it. Unlawful, infringing, misleading content, or content contrary to public order, is prohibited.
GetQRcard reserves the right to suspend access to a QRcard whose content breaches this article, including upon a third-party report, without this giving rise to liability on GetQRcard’s part.
Article 9 — Availability, evolution and discontinuation of the Service
GetQRcard uses reasonable means to keep the Service, hosted with OVH, available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted availability (maintenance, technical incidents).
GetQRcard may evolve the Service’s features over time. Should the Service be permanently discontinued, Users would be informed through reasonably available means (e-mail and/or a notice on the Site), with reasonable advance notice where possible, and no paid subscription would be renewed beyond the period already paid for.
Article 10 — Intellectual property
The Site, its structure, text, design and the “GetQRcard” brand belong to Le Chemin Numérique or its partners and are protected by intellectual property law. Users retain all rights to the content they upload (Article 8) and grant GetQRcard only the hosting and display rights needed to operate the Service.
Article 11 — Personal data
The processing of Users’ personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, available from the Site’s footer, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
Article 12 — Liability
GetQRcard provides the Service with reasonable care, but “as is”, without warranting it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by Belgian law, GetQRcard is not liable for indirect damage or loss of data or revenue arising from use of the Service, nor for the consequences of a third party scanning a QR code or of a destination change made by the User. Nothing in these Terms excludes GetQRcard’s liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor the mandatory rights granted to consumers under Belgian law.
Article 13 — Complaints and mediation
Complaints can be sent to admin@lcn.ac. Failing an amicable resolution, Belgian consumers may contact, free of charge, the Consumer Mediation Service, Belgium’s contact point for consumer disputes.
Article 14 — Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute, and subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules, the courts of the judicial district of Liège have exclusive jurisdiction.
Article 15 — Changes to these Terms
GetQRcard may amend these Terms, in particular to reflect changes to the Service or to applicable law. The version that applies is the one published on the Site at the time of the order or, for an ongoing subscription, the one notified with reasonable advance notice before it takes effect.
